Jose Marti Mathematics & Science Technology 6-12 Academy is an innovative and cutting edge magnet program. This unique concept-based learning approach will fully immerse students from sixth to twelfth grade in a 21st century curriculum focusing on three essential strands: Life Science, Physical Science and Mathematics/Computer Science. This program provides students with cross curricular experiences that examine these concepts through collaborative, inquiry-based learning.

Program Emphasis

Core Concepts

• Learning applications will include field studies, project-based learning, competitions, and scientific research.
• Core content courses will be thematically tied to scientific and mathematical research, methodology, and science applications.
• The curriculum will emphasize the development of the student's ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, about the sciences.
• Students will be given the opportunity to participate in Dual Enrollment courses through local universities and colleges.
• Internships will be offered in computers, mathematics, and scientific research with actual researchers in our community.
• Scientific inquiry will be the foundation of learning.

• 2.5 GPA or higher in all Core Classes
• Minimum of a "C" in Conduct.
• LESS than 10 absences / tardies

• 9 GRADE - Minimum of Math 3 Advanced and Science 3 Advanced -
  preference for Algebra 1 AND Earth/Space Science.
• Recommendation letter from a Math, Science Teacher OR a Counselor or Administrator.
